Training course in Iceland, june 4-9 2010
Aims, objectives and main theme:
AUS ICYE Iceland is planning to provide an international 5-day training course for NGOs and institutions working with youth and international youth mobility. We are convinced that both our present and former volunteers have an impact on how local communities of immigrants and local people can function. In this training, we will focus on the question what impact cross-border volunteering has for multicultural local communities, i.e. both in the hosting and sending society.
Target group:
The target group is representatives of youth organizations that focus on intercultural and social aspects (volunteer services, international youth exchanges, work camps etc.), trainers and multipliers.
When, where and how much?
If approved, the training course will be held in Iceland in June 2010. All cost of participants will be covered, if granted, by the European Commission’s Youth in Action programme except for 30% of travel cost. Organizations from EU member countries and Lichtenstein, Norway and Turkey are eligible to take part. The training will be held in English.
