The Foundation "Giovanni e Francesca Falcone" based in Palermo - Italy, is going to apply at the next deadline of the Europe for Citizens programme (next monday) for a project on the role of civil society in countering organized crime. The project foresee to organize one international seminar (in a country other than Italy) and than involve 60-70 participants in the celebrations of the 19th anniversary of the killing of the judge Giovanni Falcone, his wife Francesca and three of their bodyguards, on the 23rd of May 2011. We are therefore looking for partners for the project (at least 15 different partners from 15 different countries).
Each partners will have the possibility to send:
- one participant to the international seminar (to be held in December 2010 or January 2011) with 80% travel cost reimbursed plus board and lodging
- at least two participants to the celebrations of the 23rd of May 2011, which will include some meetings with representative of the Antimafia prosecution Office of Palermo, with some journalist, with some representatives of the local civic movements again mafia and crime, the visit to some of the goods previously owned by mafia bosses and now used for social purposes.
For those participants to the celebrations, board and lodging, plus 75% travel reimbursement is foreseen. Partners must be from the European Union members States or from Albania, Croatia, FYRO Macedonia. Partners interested to join the project must fill the partnership form they can download from and send it to the email before the 12th of February.
