We are young people from Turkey. We belong to Ankara University Research& Development club from Ankara. We would like to invite you to become a Project partner in our international training course. The Project will take place in Ankara, the capital of Turkey. The Exchange will be 7 days, 11-18.10.2010. We would like to make this Project with 7 more countries , inviting 3 participants from each team, from each country.
Supposed date of Exchange: 11-18.10.2010 (travels included)
Participant profile:
People aged 18 and over.
Three participant from each country. Newspaper clipping or true life stories about the refugee issue and the information that the society has on this subject will be demanded from the participants. To be participant from some countries which get the huge amount of migrants such as Germany, Italy, France, Greece, Bulgaria, Spain and United Kingdom is important to evaluate the problems. The language of the project is English.

Purposes and Aims:
Our primary aim is to increase the consciousness of the youth and to make the society conscious of the refugee issue with the European Youth in order to prevent the refugees/asylum seekers from discrimination and human rights violations once more, which they have confronted in their countries before. We have an aim of signalizing the problems that refugees confront and providing the social awareness by assessing the problems under human rights issue. In this context, in our democracy dominated modern states; in countries that intends ‘human focused life’; trying to signalize to minimize the discrimination against the refugees is among our priorities. To have debates with the European Youth about the refugee issue, to talk, to have common activities, to signalize the present problems and to increase the knowledge on the issue by the training course and the panels which we are planning to organize are among our important and primary purposes. We have planned to exchange of our knowledge with the European Youth about the problems, injustice and discriminations which refugees confront in the European Countries in order to have a common social responsibility.
Activities:
In the frame of the project, our most important and first activity is to have a training course with the project partners by UNHCR in order to have more information about the refugee issue. With this course, corporation of the partners and mutual interaction are expected. Another activity is to organize a panel with the participation of people who have worked in the area of refugee in order to make the society conscious about refugees. We are planning to increase the knowledge of the society on refugees and make them aware of the problems. In order to achieve this aim, we also plan to make a short film with the partners. Another aim of making the short film is to have a common work on this area with the partners. At the same time, we plan to screen the film during the panel in the purpose of helping the audience to understand the issue clearly. By watching a few films on the refugee issue with the participants and to have debates on these films are planned and by this way, we expect to increase the mutual interaction. We also plan to demand every participant to bring newspaper clipping or true life stories about the refugee issue in their countries and share the results during the project in order to see the differences between the demonstrations of the countries.
