Project Theme: Freedom to choose: 2 be or not 2 be a volunteer?
"7 Expressions: International Youth Camp" is a Youth Exchange
project on the theme of Volunteering. Seven organisations from 7 EU countries, 49 youngsters, are gathering together for 7 days (1 - 8 March 2011) in Cluj-Napoca/Romania, in order to express themselves by the means of 7 arts: Photography, Painting, Music, Poetry, Movie, Theatre and Dance. The selection of the participants will be based upon portfolio review and letter of intend. The artistic expressions will have as a staring point the project's motto: "Freedom to choose: 2 be or not 2 be a volunteer?"
The Activity Program will include intercultural exchange, games, visits to local attractions in Cluj, parties and other non-formal learning experiences. Each day will be dedicated to one art, - each participant will have to show their own artistic creation - and the seventh day will celebrate all arts and diversity through multiculturalism and multidisciplinary approach. The art works produced during the Youth Exchange will be presented in an Art Exhibition open to the public. In the end all participants will receive supporting prizes and diplomas for their works and the results of their work will be shared with the world via internet media.
Reason:
In the context of 2011 as the European Year of Volunteering the main theme of the Youth Exchange reflects the freedom of choice related to volunteering, because in our society the volunteers are often very hard judged and disregarded.
"7 Expressions - International Youth Camp" is a multicultural
project witch is based on artistic creation that bounds people together. Volunteering is a gift and we would like to share the beauty of being volunteer with those who aren't interested as yet. Volunteering can be an outstanding processes that brings out the good in humanity and makes wonderful things come through. 49 youngsters are bound to prove it during the project.
Eligible partners: NGO's or Organizations from EU Countries,
members of the Programe.
Participant's age: 18 - 24 with interests in arts.
Group: 6 + 1 leader
Activity period: 1- 8 March 2011
Accommodation and food will be paid by organizer; travel costs up to 70% will be reimbursed.
