The idea
Some young people don’t seem to be motivated for anything. Although it seems obvious they have to take new steps in life to overcome challenges and problems they simply don’t seem to be able to motivate themselves to do so. For youth workers, social workers, mentors and others one of the most challenging groups to work with. Everything has been tried out but nothing seems to work.
Many of these young people leave school, get unemployed and from there arrive in a situation where they don’t any longer feel part of, or take part in society. The training course “Motivation for Change” wants to offer approaches, methodologies and tools to help these young people to find their motivation for change. Special attention will be given to the possibilities that the Youth in Action programme offers to support motivating actions for young people. The main goal and the objectives of the TC are to digg in the issues regarding young people who apparently are not motivated for anything and risk “to drop out from life” . The effort will be to improve the competences of the participants about a better understanding of the background of motivational problems, listening skills, role distance attitude, emphatic attitude, better understanding of the different actions of the YiA program, to use European programs as motivational programs, In the end they should become more competent and more effective in stimulating “non motivated” young people to take new steps in life, to overcome challenges and problems. For youth workers, social workers, mentors, coaches, etc., this target represent one of the most challenging groups to work with. The training course “Motivation for Change” wants to offer approaches, methodologies and tools to help these young people to find their motivation for change. Special attention will be given to the possibilities that the Youth in Action programme offers to support motivating actions for young people.
