The training course “Identity and Communication for Intercultural Acceptance” The training course is developed for youth workers willing to improve intercultural learning, dialogue and acceptance in their projects and organizations.
Target group: Youth workers, Youth leaders, Project managers.

Macedonia, Former Yugoslav Republic of, Montenegro, Serbia, Turkey.
Group size: 22 participants

About the training course
The training course “Identity and Communication for Intercultural Acceptance” The training course is developed for youth workers willing to improve intercultural learning, dialogue and acceptance in their projects and organizations. The training will gather 22 participants from 7 countries (UK, Croatia, Turkey, Slovenia, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia) and will last about 7 days and held in Newcastle UK in July 2013.
Objectives:
• Sharing experience- realities and activities- regarding intercultural diversity in our communities and countries;
• Exploring the concepts of identity and its development on the personal level and in relation with different groups we feel we belong to;
• Mapping identity related issues in our local youth work, but also in our European youth work and within Youth in action projects;
• Promoting cultural diversity as strength in our everyday life and youth work as opposed to feeling fear of the unknown to many youngsters in our community nowadays;
• Further developing participants competence in communication, conflict transformation and team work for quality leadership and facilitation of intercultural dialogue in intercultural project in order to avoid the linguistic and cultural divide;
• Promoting intercultural dialogue as an instrument in acquiring the knowledge and aptitudes for dealing with a more open and more complex environment;
• Introducing the Youth in action programme and developing new project and future cooperation among participating organizations with the topic of intercultural dialogue and the focus of organizing Youth exchange which will include second generation immigrant youngsters and youth for other cultural minorities according to the realities and needs in our local communities.
Costs:
100% Accommodation and food;
70% travel cost;
100% visa costs.
